Sold through Christie's London on June 4, 1937 (no. 29) as a painting by Foppa. N.B. Henry Pelham Archibald Douglas Pelham-Clinton died in 1928. His nephew (the 9th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyme) inherited Clumber House and many of his possessions (including artworks). He sold some of these paintings on June 4, 1937—I believe this ownership may have been omitted from this provenance entry on the Kress Foundation website.
