Bought by Mason at Viscount Wimborne Sale, lot 20, Christie's, London, March 9, 1923. The painting did not remain at Christie's between 1923-7, but the specific location is not known. At some point between 1923-1927, the painting returns to Wimborne, when it is sold in the Cornelia Lady Wimborne sale. Cornelia Lady Wimborne was the wife of Lord Wimborne.
